Forest Zones Become Terrorist Hideouts Amid Security Forces’ Jungle Warfare

The Forest zones have become hideouts of the terrorists! They are using forests as security forces have got into the forest! To be honest it is simply a jungle warfare scenario!

-If they (terrorists) are using jungles then our officers and men are better trained for this sort of scenario!

-If they are using stealth and creep as an instrumental weapon, our men can do the same better!

-The same old terminology comes to the forefront, ‘In a jungle warfare scenario the famous adage comes up front, ‘fight a guerilla (in this case terrorists ) like a guerilla’!

-The news was, an Army officer, 4 others were killed in Doda, a Jaish-linked outfit behind the attack, said the intelligence agencies!

-It seems that it was a result of a deep rooted conspiracy to disturb the environment in Jammu Province! The attacks are taking place in almost all the districts of the Province! Big statements have been made that terrorism has been wiped out in Jammu but then what was this? The attack was claimed by ‘Kashmir Tigers’, a shadow group of Pakistan-backed terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad’!

-The Story:

-General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, and all ranks of Indian Army convey their deepest condolences to the bravehearts Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra and Sepoy Ajay, who laid down their lives in the line of duty, while undertaking a counter terrorist operation in Doda in order to ensure peace in the region,” the Army said in a statement.

-The encounter took place when the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint cordon and search operation at Dhari Gote Urarbagi in Desa forest belt, some 55 km from Doda town, late Monday evening.

The details:

After a brief exchange of fire, the officials said the terrorists attempted to escape but were chased by the troops led by an officer, despite challenging terrain and thick foliage, leading to another firefight in the woods at nearly 9 pm.

Five soldiers were critically injured in the encounter and four of them, including the officer, later succumbed to injuries, the officials confirmed.

In a statement, the terror group ‘Kashmir Tigers’ said the clash and gunfire erupted while the security forces launched a search operation for the “Mujahideen”.

‘Kashmir Tigers’ is the same group which earlier claimed responsibility for the attack on an Army convoy in Kathua on July 9.

The operation was launched based on input about the presence of terrorists in the area, according to officials. Security forces are on high alert in Jammu and Kashmir following a spate of terror attacks at several places in the Jammu region for the past few weeks.

-The chronology of events:

-The Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid on July 14 along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district and gunned down three terrorists.

-On July 8, five Army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer, died, and as many were injured when terrorists ambushed an Army convoy on a rugged mountainous road in Kathua district.

-On July 6, six terrorists were shot dead by security forces in twin gunfights in Kulgam district. Two soldiers lost their lives during the separate encounters.

-Most recently, in Doda, three terrorists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces on June 26. The gunfight took place after the Army cordoned off a hideout with four terrorists, three of whom were killed.

-And now this!

-What is the aim of the terrorists?

-In Kashmir they have been swept off almost though the terror mongers do create a sudden eruption!

-But it looks like they are on the prowl in the Jammu region because incidents are happening at a random pace!

-Now the question that arises is where are they coming from?

-Our troops are on alert on the borders but there seems to be something that we are missing!

-And that missing link has to be found out!

The situation that is emanating rewinds us to what happened in the 1990’s when Jammu Province was put on the boil by the terrorists from across! This is also a pilgrimage time and pilgrims are progressing! And such nuisance created by terrorists is hurting the psyche of the people!
