Late Mufti Muhammed Ayoub Naqshbandi was a divine blessing to the people of Mendhar, a true gift from the Almighty!

In the memory of revered late Mufti Muhammad Ayoub Naqshbandi was commemorated in his hometown of Dharana, Mendhar area of Pooch district J&K (UT) where thousands gathered to honor his legacy.
Born and raised in a predominantly Muslim family in Dharana, Mendhar, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Ayoub dedicated his life to the study and dissemination of Islamic knowledge, specializing in Islamic jurisprudence and Hadith e Mutahira. Over the course of his illustrious career, he spent four decades serving as the Mufti e Islam for Tehsil Mendhar, gaining recognition not only as a scholar but also as a remarkable administrator. He contributed significantly to the Defence Research and Development of Islam and was involved in several prominent Indian Islamic organizations.
Mufti Ayoub earned the title “Bold Man of Tehsil Mendhar” due to his tireless work in the development of hundreds of new Islamic centers throughout the Tehsil. His leadership and efforts played a crucial role in the establishment and expansion of the historic Jamia Masjid Mendhar, where he was instrumental in both organizational and technical aspects.
Mufti Ayoub’s influence extended beyond his administrative roles. He was elected as the president of several significant Islamic organizations and was widely respected as the “Muslim’s President.” He was deeply engaged in teaching, writing, and public service, and he was known for his signature role in issuing Fatwas, offering guidance to the community in times of need. His contributions were recognized by numerous Islamic institutions, and he was the recipient of various awards in acknowledgment of his services to Islam.
Sadly, Mufti Muhammad Ayoub passed away on May 25, 2016, at the age of 80, leaving behind a rich legacy of knowledge and community service. His funeral, held in his beloved hometown of Dharana, was attended by thousands, reflecting the deep respect and admiration he commanded throughout his life. He was laid to rest in his hometown, where his spirit and contributions will continue to inspire future generations.
