Needless to mention Jo Ek Baar Inse Milta Hai Woh Baar Baar Milna Chahta hai!

But we were all young once. It passes, like innocence and a sense of fair play. The only thing left in the end is a good instinct for survival! GOC 16 corps Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva was not wrong while he was interacting with the war veterans & Civilians! He was full of wise words and several anecdotes that are a much needed affair as the golden oldies go!
-In the beginning when the world was young there were a great many thoughts but no such thing as a truth. Man made the truths himself and each truth was a composite of a great many vague thoughts. All about the world were the truths and they were all beautiful. There was the truth of simplicity and the truth of passion, the truth of wealth and of poverty, of thrift and of profligacy, of carelessness and abandon. Hundreds and hundreds were the truths and they were all beautiful. And then the people came along. Each as he appeared snatched up one of the truths and some who were quite strong snatched up a dozen of them.
-The most precious commodity with which the Army deals is the individual soldier who is the heart and soul of our combat forces.
-You cannot choose your battlefield, God does that for you; But you can plant a standard Where a standard never flew.
-Every war veteran has some intriguing things to tell about his younger days but in meets such as GOC 16 Corps organized they come up with those lovely truths they saw and faced but with a smiling face!
-One war veteran once told me, fear comes, and once you recognize it and accept it, it passes just as fast as it comes, and you don’t really think about it anymore. You just do what you have to do, but you learn the real meaning of fear and life and death. And then cheekily said, ‘Aaap Ki Raye Mere Bare Mein’! The smile was impeccable and my reply was, Sunate, Sunate, Rahiye’!
As far as GOC 16 Corps goes he has written the following on his golden heart,
‘A commander in battle has three means of influencing the action: Fire support, now pouring down in torrents; his personal presence on the battlefield; and the use of his reserve’!
-These are all the hallmarks of a great commander!
-Another thing that is inbuilt in great commanders is, ‘I can’t promise you that I will bring you all home alive. But this I swear, before you and before Almighty God, that when we go into battle, I will be the first to set foot on the field, and I will be the last to step off, and I will leave no one behind. Dead or alive, we will all come home together. So help me, God.’
-That is what command is all about!
-GOC 16 ,Corps engaged with #Veterans and Civil Society members . He praised their pivotal contributions to peace, security, and stability in Jammu Division!
-Don’t walk in front of me… I may not follow, Don’t walk behind me… I may not lead, Walk beside me… just be my friend! That probably was the theme of this interaction!
-Friendship … is born at the moment when one man says to another What! You! ‘Friendship … is born at the moment when one man says to another “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . .’
-A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.
-The theme was great and so was the gathering!
I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light
Even if you cannot change all the people around you, you can change the people you choose to be around. Life is too short to waste your time on people who don’t respect, appreciate, and value you. Spend your life with people who make you smile, laugh, and feel loved.
GOC White Knights Corps had perhaps these commandments uppermost in his mind:
1) I love you not for who you are, but who I am when I’m by your side@.
2) No person deserves your tears, and who deserves them won’t make you cry.
3) Just because someone doesn’t love you as you wish, it doesn’t mean you’re not loved with all his/her being.
4) A true friend is the one, who holds your hand and touches your heart.
5) The worst way to miss someone is to be seated by him/her and know you’ll never have him/her.
6) Never stop smiling, not even when you’re sad, someone might fall in love with your smile.
7) You may only be a person in this world, but for someone you’re the world.
8) Don’t spend time with someone, who doesn’t care about spending it with you.
9) Maybe God wants you to meet many wrong people, before you meet the right one,so when it happens you’ll be thankful.
10) Don’t cry because it came to an end, smile because it happened.
11) There will always be people who’ll hurt you, so you need to continue trusting, just be careful.
12) Become a better person and be sure to know who you are, before meeting someone new and hoping that person knows who you are.
13) Don’t struggle so much, the best things happen when not expected.”
The GOC was with a smiling face, sweetly talking to the veterans because he is a down to earth man, a thorough gentleman and his approach is humanitarian and down to earth! Needless to mention Jo Ek Baar Inse Milta Hai Woh Baar Baar Milna Chahta hai! An absolute down to Earth man!
