According to Plato, “A representative is elected by the people by the power of their votes and that representative is bound to perform all the legitimate functions of the people. If he is fully representing the people, then he is the leader of the people.” If he does not fulfill to the expectations of the people, then the next time the political representative cannot take the votes of the people. Other side of the coin, the officer is also called the representative of the people, but he has to answer to the government of the time. Only if such an officer is in favor of the people, then his glory becomes very high in the eyes of the people. One such officer who is posted as District Commissioner, Poonch, whose name is Yasin M Chaudhary (IAS) has become the star in the eyes of the people of Poonch. This step of DC Poonch Yasin M Chowdhary (IAS) is being widely appreciated. Love of books is a blessing in itself. It is said that even kings in Ancient India had an eternal love for books and Libraries. Libraries were very popular in Ancient India and Greece also. There are clear evidences of this in many old stories. Let’s read one such incident:
It is said that there used to be a king in ancient India who was very fond of listening to stories. This was the reason why this king employed many well-known narrators and story-men in his Darbar. It was the custom of that king that at night he would call the storyteller to his Palace and every night he would tell a new and interesting story of his men. If those storytellers can the king to praise him with their story then the he gave to reward them. On the other hand, if the king did not like that story,he used to punish them (the story teller) . That punishment used to be so strange that he was never allowed to be released from prison until they read some new, unique and interesting story from the books and memorized it. The stories were written in books, so for this purpose they had to turn the pages of books of many stories. This King also had a boy who was very fond of books. One day, in a dream, the prince saw a beautiful young Greek princess who and sold books and praised the books in her library by paying huge sums of money. But the number of people who take his books is just countless, but the number of people who visit her is like stars in counting. The prince also goes to her library and is about to return with his guards after buying nine books from her, when a parrot sits on his head. This parrot holds in its beak a brass plate on which is engraved the text; He will be the lucky one who buys ten books from my library and will be given much more as a reward. When the prince’s eyes fell on this golden and shining text, he thought in his heart, “Let’s go back and buy the tenth book from the fairy of this fairy-place and what kind of reward can we get?” For this purpose, the prince again approached the queen of this beauty and after obtaining the tenth book, inquired about the reward and honour. The princess said, O good luck, it is clear from your words and manners that you are a noble son of a king and I think that you are a resident of the country of India. The prince laughed and said to the princess in a surprised tone: O Queen , you have made me crazy with the magic of your words and I have lost my heart to you. You seem to me like a fairy from a fairyland. That princess had also fallen in love with an Indian prince; She smiled at her compliment and blushed at the prince’s expression of love and immediately lowered her eyes. Then said that you want the tenth book? The Indian prince immediately said yes, I want the tenth book and also the book seller. Therefore, the prince’s love of books forced him to buy the books he liked, along with the bookseller, the Greek princess. Therefore, the life of the dream is shorter, when the dream was awakened, it was also broken, but that dream was broken by giving this Indian prince a movement. The prince built guesthouses at all the tourist places of his country and built libraries at all the important places in which different kinds of rare books were kept and opened them free of charge to all the ladies and gentlemen who were fond of books. Later, his father got him married to the same Greek princess.
