On the warriors Path was a warrior women from Poonch and well the name was Lady Mali Bee now Mali Tantray!
She was a fighter to the core and
a highly decorated woman!

-‘Everything in the world can wait but one. Only an assault on the
marauding enemy cannot because he is seeking to run you down! This did
happen in 1971 and they needed to be confronted! The game of sheer
brutality, ruthlessness and savegry was on and somewhere it had to be
a pay back time! Trust me it was not far off!’
-‘When I got this story I knew that I something very special hanging
out of my cufflings! Anf I got a perfect start from Catherine M.
Wilson! An excellent writer whose immortal lines, ‘were there once
only women warriors, Mother?’ Don’t know.’ ‘Oh.’ I started to get up.
‘Makes sense,’” she said. ‘Why?’ Who else should take a life? No man
ever brought a child out of his body. ‘I’m not sure I understand you,’
she said. ‘Are you elling me you saved my life because you were angry
with me?’
-‘The idea struck me funny. ‘Yes,’ I said, trying not to smile.
‘Furious. Furious?’ Enraged, I said. Oh dear. ’ And then she smiled
and said kid get up up for another fight! It’s not all over as yet!’
It cannot be because that is the power of a woman and Mali was one of
the big portraits of bravery and chivalry from District Poonch!’ It’s
not me saying it but the entire clan of warriors (most are men) who
acknowledge he feats the feats of this woman who was bravery
personified in all the respects!
-‘Honestly speaking and unfortunately I have not met this wonder lady,
a super woman or could be called as Bat woman straight out of the
books by Marvel cinema, books and comics’! Fiction too is based on
real time true stories but fiction gives twists and turns to the
story! But truth is sometimes stranger than fiction and here is one
such story of the empress of fighting pitched battles against the
enemy!’
-‘Lady Mali, the warrior, Padam Shree Awardee, is the pride for the
Poonch and dearest to the people of Poonch.’
-‘Hailing from a far flung village Arai of Tehsil Mandi, her story of
bravery is an inspiration for generations to come.’
‘During Indo-Pak war of 1971, she helped the Indian Army locate and
destroy infiltrators in rear areas of Poonch. Her contribution to the
nation made the entire area proud of her. She belonged to Tantray
family of Arai.’
-‘President of India, awarded her Padam Shree in the year 1972. Govt
Degree College, Mandi to be named after her. It will be a tribute to
Smt. Mali’s invaluable contribution to the country.’
-‘The entire team of Kaangri.Com thanked Hon’bleLt. Governor Manoj
Sinha and congratulated her family.
‘She is a legend by the high standards set in the manuals of art of
fighting!’ They are also the high standards set by woman of District
for themselves as far as the great Indian Nation goes! I’m sure while
getting herself in bullet and artillery guns exchanging fire with
themselves from opposite directions she must have said to herself,’
when your body feels pain,’ she said at last, ‘you try to find the
cause and do something to stop it, because your pain is warning you of
a real danger. When your heart feels pain, you need to find the cause
of that too, because the danger is no less real, and your pain will
grow worse until you understand what caused it. Only then will you
know what can be done to stop it.’! She knew as to who was causing it!
The battle was on and it had to be finished! Her information
disbursing methodology was right on the ball! The battle had to be won
and the winner in any case had to be only one! ‘The Indian Army’!
-‘Think of a woman whose body has made a child. Who gave birth to it.
Cradled and nursed it. Loved it. She will hold life dear differently
than someone who has not.’… A woman with a warrior’s heart shouldn’t
fear the truth, perhaps she said to herself. And then also with
another one said ‘no weapon in the world is stronger than the truth.’!
She knew that she was on the side of the truth and she knew that she
was flawless! Indeed she was all the way!
-What happened in Mandi:
-President of India, awarded her Padam Shree in the year 1972. Govt
Degree College, Mandi to be named after her. It will be a tribute to
Lady. Mali’s invaluable contribution to the country.
–
-It is an imposing monument, the construction of which began in 1982.
The foundation stone was laid by Lt. Gen. S. P. Malhotra, PVSM, the
then GOC-in-C, Northern Comd and was declared open by Lt. Gen M. L.
Chibber, PVSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C Northern Comd on 29 October 84 in
commemoration of the heroic deeds of the men who laid down their
precious lives defending the Motherland in the Divisional Sector.
-‘It symbolizes their supreme sacrifice. It is situated on a hill top
overlooking the Rajouri town and the Valley around it. The defence of
Rajouri and Poonch had taken a toll of many precious lives. The
valiant heroes, whom history will never forget, have found a fitting
place in the sacred galleries of the PVC wall\
.
- It is not amazing that 2 PVCs, 48 MVCs, 75 VRCs and 30 SMs were
awarded to officers and men of the formation for gallantry of the
highest order. Having a pride of place in this monument are two
portraits of civs, Shri Maulvi Gulam Uddin and Smt Mali Bee who won
Ashok Chakra Class III and Padma Shree respectively for their valuable
and heroic help to the Indian Army in tackling the infiltrators. - It is a place of pilgrimage for those who love and honor the land
they are born in. It is a living monument of bravery and sacrifice
that will continue to inspire millions to greater heights of glory in
the service of the Motherland.
Stories like that of Mali Bee do not fade away just like that! I will
add another cliché here, like every soldier has a history and
truckloads stories, this is the mission I have set my self upon!
They are the fighters and why so I’m telling you so i will lock the
same in the concluding paragraph of the story!
Discipline is simply self-control. If a warrior can’t control hid/ her
feelings, they can’t control her actions, and if she can’t control
their actions, they may blunder into a serious mistake! But Lady Mali
never made a serious a mistake! She was always a different winner!
Definitely a women who left a small little message for the kids!’
This the way you play it, ‘you have the right to refuse to do anything
that anyone asks of you, but that doesn’t mean that to refuse is
always wise. But I have the right to be unwise, isn’t that true?
‘Yes,’ she said. ‘You’re a free woman. We are all free women here.
Freedom is important, just as obedience is important. Each has its
place.!’…..Lady Mali!
