KPL : Army organized cricket league to empower youth at Kotranka

Rajouri : Indian Army conducted Cricket Competition for Boys of Rajouri District at Kotranka with effect from 23 Dec 2024 to 29 Dec 2024. The main motive behind this event was to positively engage the youth, promote healthy lifestyle and physical fitness. Cricket match was based on T-10 cricket format for under 19 years old youths from local schools. This tournament was also aimed at bringing cohesiveness amongst the youth of the area and to build on already existing cordial relationship with Indian Army.

A total of four teams from local schools participated in the cricket competition and the matches were conducted on league basis. All participating teams displayed great enthusiasm & sportsman spirit during the Cricket Competition. Even the enthusiasm of spectators was extraordinary. After league stage and Semi finals, two best teams  reached in final. In a thrilling final match between High Sec School Budhal V/S GDC Kotranka and High Sec School Budhal emerged as winner and lifted the winner's trophy. 

Such positive engagement weans away curious young minds from getting involved in issues related to drug abuse, unlawful activities and channelizes the energy of the youth in a positive direction, boost competitive skills and helps them to resist falling into the traps of anti national and anti social elements. Conduct of cricket competition at Kotranka will help in motivating the youth in keeping themselves fit. Youth and locals of areas expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude towards Army for conducting Cricket Tournament & taking this noble initiative towards effective Youth engagement.
Col Rahul Rana, SM Commanding Officer, 60 RR (NAGA)* and Dysp Vikram Singh Kandi graced the occasion by their presence.
