The Indian Army’s Romeo Force has always been known for its ethos, values and traditions of highest order. The professional and humane face of Indian Army is well known and has always been praised and commended. To support people from remote areas of Pir Panjal Ranges of Rajouri District, Indian Army at Samote organised Medical and Veterinary camp in Jhalamang village. The aim of the camp was to provide basic medical facilities to the people residing in remote villages
Indian Army Unit at Samote alongwith Medical and Veterinary doctors from Rajouri District carried out a Medical and Veterinary camp in the remote village Jhalamang of Rajouri district on 20 Jan 2025. A total of str 491 (Civil Doctor - 02 & Army Doctor - 01) attended the camp. Four hundred eighty eight locals including 229 men,101 women and 88 children from Jhalamang and nearby areas availed the benefit of free medical treatment wherein 15 Buffalos, 10 Dogs, 10 Sheep and 35 Goats benefitted from the Veterinary camp. The Medical and Veterinary camp was organised mainly with the aim to attend to the medical ailments of civilians and domestic animals reared by Gujjar and Bakarwal community during winter season. Generally, these migratory families and their livestock stay in their respective villages and face lot of problems due to remoteness of their dwelling areas.
The Medical and Veterinary camp carried out for Gujjars and Bakarwal families has generated a lot of goodwill in the area. Locals whole-heartedly have heartily appreciated the assistance given by the Indian Army's Romeo Force to the Awam and have conveyed their sincere thanks and gratitude for this noble gesture.
