Nowshera Brigade The bond of love between the people and Army is an extremely strong one!

Srinagar:-Great rustic place, fabulous down hill slopes towards the Indian side, to the other side also the scenery is captivating, a pleasure to the eyes but when we look through the binoculars which the soldier standing in line of duty there sees men on the other side, he immediately comes to know that they are a different race altogether, all in uniforms indulging in dark mechanics, our soldiers think as to what are these men with no scruples doing? Basically they are slurs on humanity and conveniently add to this a blot on the profession of soldiering. Reasons I do not have to give because they are known to all!Nowshera in Rajour district is the place where Brigadier Muhammad Usmaan, Naik Jadunath Singh and the lineage of great soldiers down the ages performed the duty at hand with devotion, daring, dedication and determination. But it was in the late eighties of the last century when Pakistan set up things on the boil by exploiting the down trodden youth in Kashmir as well as in the areas around the LOC. The initial pincer by the armed militants financed by Pakistan took the then state administration by surprise and jacked up the complete administrative infrastructure. The people had no idea as to what was happening as they saw the educational institution set ablaze, people forced to migrate to the camps in Nakial, Rawlakote, Balakote (across LOC), Mirpur, Government offices vandalized, the intellectuals being murdered and those who had the guts to stand up against the monstrous fury were put to death after lead being pumped into their fragile skins! It seemed a never ending ghastly tale of horrors. But then stepped in the Indian army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the paramilitary forces. The payback time had begun! This write up is dedicated to the Indian army and the people staying on the LOC who have fought together for the last three and a half decades to thwart the designs of the enemy across. The version here is not dramatized, everything is real and it happened. One correspondent and a writer got together to write down this saga a tale of crumbled daffodils. shattered dreams and the fight back supreme in nature. It has been a gigantic effort of three decades now that the LOC is buzzing, the people feeling bubbly and wobbling about because they have nothing to be scared off because with them stand the knights of valor forever ready to help them at any place, any moment and at anytime. The togetherness is unique, take any aspect, education, awareness, distress solutions, administrative hiccups, survival aspects, health issues, veterinary corners, skill development, training women to become self sufficient, recruitment fares, exposing children to the nation, so on and so forth it is the Indian army that comes to the rescue of the people. When heads were falling apart in Jammu and Kashmir, 30 years back the cool, calm and calculative commanders of this mammoth force at all levels kept theirs intact and therefore managed to change the situation on its head! The testimony to this is what we see today on the LOC where people stay and soldiers hold the sway!Volumes can be written on what Indian army did on the LOC since incidents of love are many which surely are going to figure out in our book which is another project in our hands. Readers may consider this as a prelude to the same. Little do the people staying in towns, cities and metros know as to what exactly is brotherhood of man like! One visit to the LOC is bound to change the pattern of their thinking. With enemy unpredictable, no one knows as to where the next bullet is heading towards. It could be towards anyone but these men (Army and the permanent residents) take it all smilingly! Just a matter of fact thing for them!
