This amongst many firsts that has been unleashed by the Indian Army in District Poonch! Again a glorious, epic and majestic chapter added to the book titled Operation Sadhbhavna!

-The header of this chapter is, First ever Technology led School in Nakarkote, Poonch!

-Who could have thought about the same back in the Nineties of the last century when the flames of terrorism were hell bent in mutilating District Poonch! Perhaps no one but today the same is a reality and this is all courtesy the Indian Army!

-Folks, what can technology do? Extrapolated, technology wants what life wants: Increasing efficiency, Increasing opportunity, Increasing emergence, Increasing complexity, Increasing diversity, Increasing specialization, Increasing ubiquity, Increasing freedom, Increasing mutualism, Increasing beauty, Increasing sentience, Increasing structure and Increasing evolvability!

-What else does a human being want!

  • The smallest thought could not exist unless the entire universe and the laws of physics were in some way encouraging it! To be honest I will revert back to my diary when I was studying in CMS Tyndale Biscoe days! An extract I wrote went something like this, I was hopeless in Physics and had no chance of passing it! My Dad was in the army posted somewhere in Kupwara and the exams were nearing! Agreed that I knew Newton’s Laws of motion and Kepler’s laws of planetary motion but had no idea how to apply them in a problem! Theory part was fine but solving the problem was Achilles heel! But someone did come to my rescue! The six daughters of a Chief Engineer who stayed up stairs as we were staying in a MES hired accommodation in Rawalpora (Srinagar)! They weaved their magic wand as all of them were superb in science subjects! All of them were products of Malison’s Girls Higher Secondary School (Lal Chowk)! Needless to mention I got a first division in Class tenth and that was my take off point! The six (I call them sisters), now almost as old as me and maybe older, gave me the spark and that is the reason as to why I’m good enough to handle the computer as I wish! The year was 1980!

-Our mission as humans is not only to discover our fullest selves in the technium, and to find full contentment, but to expand the possibilities for others. Greater technology will selfishly unleash our talents, but it will also unselfishly unleash others: our children, and all children to come.

-This is what the Indian Army is preaching in District Poonch!

-But remember one thing: The web holds about a trillion pages. The human brain holds about a hundred billion neurons. Each biological neuron sprouts synaptic links to thousands of other neurons, while each web page on average links to 60 other pages. That adds up to a trillion ‘synapses between the static pages on the web. The human brain has about 100 times that number of links—but brains are not doubling in size every few years. The global machine is! This practical experience!

As a practical matter I’ve learned to seek the minimum amount of technology for myself that will create the maximum amount of choices for myself and others. The cybernetician Heinz von Foerster called this approach the Ethical Imperative, and he put it this way: ‘Always act to increase the number of choices.’ The way we can use technologies to increase choices for others is by encouraging science, innovation, education, literacies, and pluralism. In my own experience this principle has never failed: In any game, increase your options.! And that is a period!

-In a groundbreaking move aimed at revolutionizing education in remote, conflict-prone areas of Jammu & Kashmir, the Indian Army has launched the first-ever technology led school in Village Nakarkote, District Poonch.

-This pioneering initiative reflects a significant investment in the future of young minds and the region’s long-term peace and development. The Army’s flagship socio-economic initiative through Operation Sadbhavana has long been dedicated to supporting the Awam through numerous developmental projects.

-This latest venture into technology-driven education underscores the Army’s commitment to bridging the educational divide and fostering innovation across the region.

-The hybrid school will feature state-of-the-art facilities, blending conventional teaching methods with advanced digital tools to create an enriched learning environment.

-The curriculum will incorporate cutting-edge educational technologies, interactive digital content, and real-time virtual classrooms, ensuring that students in these remote areas receive the highest quality education.

-This initiative aims to provide high-quality education and a brighter future for children, who have long been deprived due to the disruptive actions of Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

-This school aims to serve as a beacon of hope and progress, demonstrating that through collaboration and innovation, we can create lasting positive impacts even in the most challenging environment.

Finally in the conclusion we would say, ‘When people maximize their set of talents, they shine because no one can do what they do. People fully inhabiting their unique mixture of skills are inimitable’!
