Mysterious Disease: Three Siblings Among Four Girls Fall Ill, Admitted In GMC Rajouri

Jammu, Jan 21(GNS): Four more persons were admitted in hospital from Badhaal area of Rajouri where seventeen people have died under mysterious circumstances in little over seven weeks.

Official sources told GNS that four girls, three of them siblings, have shown same symptoms including high fever, body ache, vomiting and loss consciousness as was case with the seventeen who succumbed to the unexplained disease since December 7.

They have been shifted to GMC Rajouri for treatment and observation, they said.

This comes as an inter-ministerial team led by MHA is undertaking an inquiry to unravel the mystry shroudinng 17 deaths from three families.

On December 7 last, five people including four children, died of a mysterious illness after they fell ill after taking a community meal. On December 12, a woman and three children died due to an unknown illness.

On January 9, Mohammad Aslam’s six children fell ill, and all of them succumbed to it. The maternal uncle and aunt who lived with Aslam also died last week.(GNS)
