CM announces relief, ₹2 lakh for kin of deceased, ₹1 lakh for seriously injured, ₹25,000 for minor injuries
Srinagar, Apr 20 (KNC): Twenty one people have died and 61 others were injured in the tragic Ramnagar–Udhampur road accident on Monday.
As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Dr Singh in a post on X said, “Further update accident Ramnagar–Udhampur, 21 casualties so far and 61 injured. Injured have been shifted to Udhampur Hospital while one more seriously injured is being airlifted to Government Medical College Jammu. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families. All possible assistance is being provided. My office is in constant touch.”
Meanwhile, the office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced immediate relief for the victims from the CM Relief Fund.
It said, “While no amount of financial assistance can ever make up for the irreparable loss of lives in the tragic Udhampur road accident, as an immediate succour, the Chief Minister has announced immediate relief: ₹2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased, ₹1 lakh to those seriously injured, and ₹25,000 to those with minor injuries.” (KNC)
