PDD Team Restores Power Supply in Gund to Sonamarg Within 10 Hours after heavy snowfall on Saturday

Srinagar:- The Power Development Department (PDD) team in Gund Ganderbal has demonstrated remarkable dedication and bravery by restoring power supply within 10 hours, despite facing challenging conditions due to heavy snowfall on Saturday.Every winter, heavy snow blankets the Kashmir Valley, leading to frequent power outages and frustration among residents. However, behind the scenes, PDD employees work tirelessly to restore power.Inspector STD Ganderbal Muhammad Afzal Raina is one such heroic figure. On Saturday, he left his home in the wee hours during a massive snowfall storm to start restoration work in the Gund area.”I left home at 7 am after receiving a call and walked almost 2 hours on foot to reach the spot with my team where the damage was to be rectified,” Afzal said.Afzal and his team worked tirelessly, climbing atop power polls, handling 33 kV lines, and rectifying faults on poles. “For us, work is worship, and our duty comes first,” he emphasized.The entire PDD team, from chief engineers to junior engineers, inspectors to linemen, and casual laborers, worked together to restore power supply.The locals have praised the efforts of the PDD employees, particularly the casual laborers, who played a crucial role in restoring power supply. Residents of Tehsil Gund have expressed gratitude to the PDD team for their bravery and dedication.The PDD team’s heroics have gone viral on social media, with pictures of casual workers fixing electric wires atop an electric pole. People from all quarters are lauding their good work, and the district administration has praised their efforts.As residents of Gund and Sonamarg enjoy the comfort and light of their restored electricity, they remain indebted to the unsung heroes of the PDD team.”Their selfless service is a shining example of dedication, bravery, and commitment to serving the people,” said a resident.
