
Srinagar, June 20 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the vibrant atmosphere of Kashmir’s bustling markets and lively nightlife in Lal Chowk, expressing pride in the region’s transformation during a function to inaugurate 84 key development projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reflecting on the past decade’s developments, PM Modi highlighted global recognition of Kashmir’s hospitality during events like the G20 Summit, held recently in the valley. “The world continues to commend the valley’s warmth and hosting capabilities,” he remarked.
Modi also recalled the Dal Lake sports car show earlier this year, emphasizing its symbolic importance in showcasing Kashmir’s progress. “Such events are testament to the valley’s advancement,” he affirmed.
He further noted the surge in tourist arrivals and economic growth in the region, citing record-breaking figures of over two crore tourists, as reported by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
“As we prepare for tomorrow’s International Yoga Day celebrations, I foresee even greater influx of tourists to this beautiful region,” Modi added, underscoring the tourism sector’s pivotal role in Kashmir’s economic landscape.
The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to resolving historical challenges, aiming for a brighter future for Kashmiris.
