Road Safety Event Held in Srinagar to Promote Awareness and Responsible Driving

Srinagar, January 8, 2025 – A comprehensive Road Safety Awareness Event was held today in Srinagar, organized by KM Technical Training Institute in collaboration with the Kashmir Road Safety Foundation (KRSF) and the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Kashmir. The initiative aimed at spreading awareness about road safety, emphasizing responsible driving, adherence to traffic laws, and the importance of proper vehicle documentation.Junaid Nazir, Director Technical at KRSF, delivered the keynote address, stressing the critical importance of valid driving licenses and vehicle insurance. “These are not just formalities but vital tools for safeguarding lives and ensuring accountability on the roads,” Nazir remarked.The Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the urgent need for a culture of road safety awareness to reduce accidents and improve safety standards in the region.The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, transport professionals, and the general public. Interactive sessions included traffic law demonstrations, safe driving techniques, and emergency response training, all aimed at empowering attendees with essential knowledge and skills.A spokesperson from KM Technical Training Institute reiterated their commitment to promoting road safety. “We strive to equip individuals with the necessary awareness and expertise to make Jammu and Kashmir’s roads safer,” they stated.The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to adhere to road safety principles and work towards fostering a safer environment for all road users.
