DISTRICT POLICE GANDERBAL APPREHENDS A DRUG PEDDLER AND SEIZES CONTRABAND SUBSTANCE.

GANDERBAL,07TH, JANUARY 2025:-In continuation of the efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, District Police Ganderbal arrested one more Drug Peddler in the jurisdiction of PS Lar and Seized Contraband Substance from his possession.Police Party of Police Station Lar laid Naka at Benhama Lar for a routine checking. On seeing the Police Party, one person tried to flee from the spot but the swift action by the Naka Police Party apprehended him tactfully and during his personal search, Contraband Substance 3.81Kgs Bhang Patri (Powder, Crushed and Dry leaves with seeds) and 32 Grams Charas (Approximately), which the accused was carrying in a bag was recovered and seized. The accused disclosed his identity as *Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir S/O Abdul Jabar Mir R/O Benhama Lar.*Accordingly, Case FIR No. *02/2025,* under relevant Sections of NDPS Act stands registered at PS Lar and further investigation has been taken up. Ganderbal Police requests general public to share information regarding drugs in the area and we assure complete anonymity of the informer.
