USRBL project fully completed: GM Northern Railway

Says work at Reasi tunnel to be completed in a week, CSR inspection in 15 days

Anantnag, Dec 17 : The much-hyped Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) has been completed fully while the work at Reasi tunnel is all set to be completed within a week, General Manager (GM) of Northern Railway, Ashok Kumar Verma, said on Tuesday.

He also said the CSR inspections would be conducted in the next 15 days.

Talking exclusively to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Verma said the work on the tunnel at Reasi is at the final stage and is expected to be completed within a week.

“The CSR inspection would also be conducted in the next 15 days,” he said, adding that the rail service from Katra to Srinagar will start soon.

Pertinently, the General Manager of Northern Railway visited Anantnag Railway Station to review operations and assess infrastructure development today.

During his visit, he stated that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is 100% complete.

Highlighting Anantnag’s importance as a tourist hub, he emphasized its potential to boost connectivity and tourism in the region.

He also announced that premium trains like Vande Bharat Express and others would soon operate in the Kashmir Valley, enhancing travel options for locals and visitors alike—(KNO)
