Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visit Jammu and Kashmir, Unveil Rs. 3,300 Crore Development Blitz
Foundation Stones Laid for 84 Projects; Agriculture Project Worth Rs. 1,800 Crore Launched
Srinagar, June 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant visit to Jammu and Kashmir on 20th and 21st June 2024, aiming to initiate a transformative phase with a massive investment in developmental projects and the celebration of yoga.
On the 20th of June, PM Modi will kickstart the visit with the “Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K” event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. This event holds strategic importance as it showcases the progress made in the region and aims to inspire the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. During the event, the Prime Minister will interact with young achievers and inaugurate 84 major developmental projects valued at over Rs. 1,500 crore. These projects encompass crucial sectors such as road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education infrastructure. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for key initiatives including the improvement of the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri Section, development of Industrial Estates, and construction of 6 Government Degree Colleges.
Moreover, PM Modi will launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) worth Rs. 1,800 crore. This ambitious project will be implemented across 20 districts in Jammu and Kashmir, benefiting around 15 lakh people by enhancing agricultural productivity and allied sectors.
Moving forward to the 21st of June, Prime Minister Modi will lead the 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations at SKICC in Srinagar. This global event highlights the immense impact of yoga on physical and mental well-being and aims to promote its practice worldwide. The theme for this year, “Yoga for Self and Society,” underscores its dual role in individual and societal well-being.
Since its inception in 2015, PM Modi has led International Yoga Day celebrations in various iconic locations, emphasizing its universal appeal and its role in fostering a healthier world. This year’s event aims to encourage grassroots participation and expand the reach of yoga in rural areas, promoting holistic health practices across communities.
