BHSS Kurhama clinches Victory in Open Volleyball Tournament organized at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 17: A two-day open Volleyball Tournament, organized under the Civic Action Program by 115 BN CRPF Zakura in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Ganderbal and Education Department Ganderbal, concluded successfully today at BHSS Ganderbal.

The tournament witnessed participation from eight Higher Secondary Schools across the district, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship and enthusiasm among the young players. On the final day, the event featured two semi-final matches, a hard-liner match, and the much-anticipated final face-off between BHSS Ganderbal and BHSS Kurhama.

The final match turned into an exciting contest, with both teams demonstrating exceptional volleyball skills and determination. After an intense battle, BHSS Kurhama emerged victorious, defeating BHSS Ganderbal by 2-1 sets.

The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal, S.K. Sharma, DYSSO Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, Commanding Officer 115 BN CRPF S.K. Pradhan, Deputy CEO Ganderbal and Principal BHSS Ganderbal.

The dignitaries felicitated the winning team, runners-up, and second runners-up with cash prizes of Rs15,000, Rs10,000, and Rs 5,000, respectively, along with trophies, uniforms and certificates.

CO 115 BN CRPF congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of organizing such tournaments to engage and motivate the youth towards constructive activities. He further highlighted that sports not only promote physical fitness but also foster teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills among the younger generation.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by CEO Ganderbal appreciating the joint efforts of the CRPF, DYSS Ganderbal, and the Education Department for promoting sports culture in the district.
