Gund Residents Open Hearts, Homes and Masjid’s to Stranded Tourists After Heavy Snowfall

Ganderbal – In a remarkable display of hospitality and kindness, residents of Gund area of Ganderbal District opened their homes and Masjids to stranded tourists who were stuck in the Srinagar-Leh highway due to the silipery road conditions of the road following heavy snowfall. However, despite their best efforts, the tourists politely declined the offer, leaving the residents with a sense of admiration for their self-sufficiency.As the news of the stranded tourists spread, the residents of Gund quickly sprang into action, offering shelter and warmth to those in need. Many residents shared their contact numbers on the WhatsApp group “Civil Society Tehsil Gund” inviting the stranded tourists to stay in their homes.”We wanted to help our brothers and sisters in need, but they refused our invitation,” said a local resident. “We were impressed by their self-sufficiency and resilience in the face of adversity.”The residents of Gund had gone above and beyond to ensure the comfort and safety of the stranded tourists. People were willing to ask these tourists and passengers from outside to stay with them as long as they wished, providing them with food, shelter, and warmth.Despite the tourists’ refusal, the residents of Gund remain committed to helping those in need. “They are our brothers and sisters, and we will always be there to support them,” said another local resident.The heavy snowfall in the region had brought the Srinagar-Leh highway to a standstill, leaving hundreds of tourists and passengers stranded.However, thanks to the kindness and generosity of the Gund residents, many of these tourists were offered a warm and welcoming place to stay until the road was cleared.This act of kindness is a testament to the hospitality and generosity of the people of Kashmir, who are known for their warm welcomes and open hearts.
