Srinagar, June 22 – The first group of pilgrims from the Hajj-2024 pilgrimage is set to return to the Kashmir Valley today, with an anticipated arrival at Srinagar Airport at 8:30 PM. Approximately 322 pilgrims are expected on this flight.
Dr. Shujaat Ahmad Qureshi, Executive Officer of Haj House Srinagar, confirmed that two additional flights are scheduled for June 23, arriving at 11:50 AM and 4:25 PM respectively.
The return of these pilgrims marks a significant moment for the Kashmiri community, symbolizing the conclusion of their spiritual journey during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
Tragically, among the pilgrims, including nine from Kashmir, were two who lost their lives during Hajj-2024, underscoring the solemnity of the occasion.
This year, over 7,000 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir participated in the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina, with the majority departing from the Srinagar embarkation point.
The return of the pilgrims is expected to be a moment of reflection and celebration within the Kashmiri community, commemorating their spiritual journey to Islam’s holiest sites.
