Army Rescues Trekker From Gangbal Lake

Ganderbal: Army rescues a Trekker from the Gangbal lake area of Kangan subdivision, Ganderbal district on 09 July 2024. The trekker Miss Debasmita Rana (30 yrs) from West Bengal was part of a team which was attempting the Great Seven Lake Trek in the Ganderbal District.
While the group was crossing Zazibal gali and coming down towards Twin lakes Gangbal and Nundkol (11,700 ft), Miss Debasmita Rana started complaining of breathlessness. Soon after that she went unconscious and was brought in the unconscious condition to the Trunkhal Army Camp of 34 ASSAM RIFLES.
The Medical Officer and his team at the Army camp rescued her and administered continuous oxygen supply. Their swift response and audacious rescue mission saved her life.
Debasmita who is presently at Kangan Trauma Centre, alive and healthy had the following to say about the medical rescue operation –
“I am eternally grateful to 34 ASSAM RIFLES and their heroic team. They are the true heroes, and my words can’t fully express the depth of my gratitude. They saved my life, and for that, I’ll be forever thankful.
Thank you, Indian Army, for giving me a second chance of life.”
The Co-trekkers of Miss Debasmita also thanked and appreciated the efforts of the Medical Officer of 34 ASSAM RIFLES at Trunkhal Camp.
