Fire Breaks Out In Gagangeer, No Casualties Reported

Ganderbal February 10 : – A massive fire broke out at a double-storeyed building in Gagangeer, causing significant damage but fortunately no loss of life.

According to reports, the structure, owned by Numberdar Ab Rashid Sheikh, son of the late Gh Mohd Sheikh, comprised four shops and two rooms on the ground floor, while the first floor had six rooms. The fire completely gutted the first floor, while the ground floor suffered partial damage.

Fire and emergency services were immediately informed, and timely intervention helped in controlling the flames, preventing further spread.

One of the rooms was rented out to three laborers working for a private contractor associated with APCO. All three tenants were reported safe.

Authorities are assessing the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage. More details are awaited.
