Admin Orders Time-Bound Inquiry Into ‘Overcharging’ By Private Schools In Mendhar, Poonch; Forms 3-Member Panel

Poonch, April 14 (GNS): The administration here has constituted a committee to inquire into allegations of overcharging by private schools in Sub-Division Mendhar Poonch.

According to an order issued by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Imran Rashid Kataria (JKAS), the committee comprises the Tehsildar Mendhar, Deputy Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch Headquarters Mendhar, and Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Mendhar and has been constituted following “news item” on social media in this regard.
The committee has been tasked with conducting a detailed inquiry into the allegations highlighted in the news and submitting a report to the SDM office within three days for “further necessary action.”

As per the order, a copy of which lies with GNS, the committee has been asked to “positively” submit its report within the stipulated time frame.

The move comes amid growing public concern over alleged arbitrary fee structures imposed by private educational institutions in the area. (GNS)
