Kashmir Police & NCB Join Hands for Intensive NDPS Case Investigation Training in Anantnag

Anantnag, February 27(TKD): In a determined push against the menace of drug abuse and trafficking, the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Kashmir and Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) South Kashmir Range (SKR), in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) J&K, conducted a specialized two-day training programme on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case investigation.

The training, held at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag, focused on enhancing the capacity of police personnel in enforcing NDPS laws effectively. DIG SKR, Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, inaugurated the programme in the presence of SSP Anantnag, Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy. Addressing the participants, they stressed the urgent need for a strategic and collective approach to tackle drug-related crimes.

Experts from law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, and health specialists led interactive sessions covering NDPS Act provisions, forensic analysis, investigation techniques, and rehabilitation strategies. The sessions provided critical insights to officers, equipping them with advanced skills to handle narcotics cases efficiently.

Speaking at the event, DIG SKR Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo reaffirmed the police’s commitment to curbing drug-related crimes. He urged officers to apply their training in real-world policing, ensuring strict enforcement of NDPS laws while adopting a rehabilitative approach toward drug abuse victims.

The police remain resolute in their mission to eradicate drug peddling and ensure a safer, drug-free society. Regular training sessions will continue to keep law enforcement personnel updated on evolving challenges and best practices in narcotics enforcement(TKD).
