Srinagar, June 21– In a commendable initiative to promote health and wellness, the Indian Army organized a series of Yoga sessions at the Line of Control (LOC) in the forward areas of LOC situated in the lap of Himalayas. This initiative aims to enhance the physical and mental well-being of the soldiers stationed in this challenging region.

The Yoga sessions, led by experienced instructors, focused on various asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques. These practices are known to reduce stress, improve concentration, and boost overall physical health, which are crucial for soldiers operating in high-stress environments.
A senior Army official stated, “The Yoga sessions have been introduced as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the holistic well-being of our troops. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many soldiers reporting improved flexibility, reduced stress levels, and a greater sense of calm.”

The sessions were conducted in an open area, allowing the soldiers to connect with nature while practicing Yoga. The serene environment of the Himalayan Forward Areas provided the perfect backdrop for these exercises, enhancing their effectiveness and benefits.
This initiative not only underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to the health and morale of its personnel but also highlights the importance of Yoga as a tool for mental and physical resilience. The Army plans to make these Yoga sessions a regular feature, reinforcing the role of Yoga in maintaining the soldiers’ readiness and well-being.
