Environment Dialogue 2025 Held at Town Hall Achabal, Anantnag

Environment Dialogue 2025 was successfully organised today at Town Hall Achabal, bringing together media professionals, students, and experts to deliberate on pressing environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.

The programme was jointly organised by prominent media personalities—Sheikh Sameer, thinker, author, activist, and Editor-in-Chief of The Kashmir Dialogues; Suhail Latief Khan of Business TV Live; Shahid Shabir, Editor-in-Chief JKNews; and Reyaz Mehmood, Correspondent Sheeshnag Times.

The event commenced with thought-provoking speeches delivered by students from various institutions, highlighting the concerns of the younger generation regarding climate change and ecological degradation.

This was followed by an engaging panel discussion featuring distinguished experts including Dr. Touseef Bhat, Member of the International Rotary Club, Environmentalist and Climate Activist; Ms. Gazala Abdullah, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Social Forestry Anantnag; Sofi Arafat, Former Chairman, MC Ashmuqam; and senior journalist Mr. Javid Sagar.

The panelists collectively urged the people of Kashmir to take proactive steps toward healing the environment and preserving natural resources for future generations. Ms. Gazala Abdullah lauded the organisers, remarking, “Till now such programs were confined to urban areas; I am glad to see these initiatives reaching rural communities, where awareness is equally important.”

The event was graced by the presence of MLA Shangus Anantnag East as the Chief Guest, who applauded the organisers for their bold initiative in addressing a cause of utmost importance.

The dialogue concluded peacefully, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of responsibility toward environmental conservation.
