Shangus, April 21(TKD): In a significant leap for local healthcare, Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Shangus successfully carried out its first-ever surgery since its establishment, marking a historic moment for the region.
The surgery—an excision biopsy of a papillomatous lesion in the left scapular region under local anesthesia (LA)—was conducted under the expert supervision of Surgeon Specialist Dr. Zahoor, supported by OT Technicians Bilal Ahmad and Riyaz Ahmad.
This medical milestone was made possible due to the dedicated efforts of MLA Shangus, Advocate Reyaz Khan, who played a pivotal role in upgrading the health infrastructure of the area. The Hon’ble MLA extended his heartfelt gratitude to BMO Shangus Dr. Javaid Ah Dugga, the surgical team, and all involved healthcare professionals for their commitment.
He also acknowledged the vital support from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Health Minister Sakeena Itoo, the Health Secretary, Director Health, and CMO Anantnag, whose collaboration ensured the realization of this long-awaited development.
This marks a new beginning for SDH Shangus, raising hopes for better healthcare accessibility in the region.
