Indian Army Brings Warmth and Joy to Kashmiri Villages on International Pheran Day

Baramulla, Dec 21(TKD) – In a heartwarming gesture, the Indian Army celebrated International Pheran Day by distributing traditional Kashmiri Pherans to underprivileged families in remote villages of the Kashmir Valley. As the harsh winter season, Chillai Kalan, sets in, these warm garments will provide much-needed relief to those in need.The initiative, which took place across the valley, aimed to extend the spirit of Pheran Day beyond the urban celebrations in Srinagar. The Army collaborated with local volunteers to identify and assist families most in need of this essential winter wear.”This gesture not only provides warmth but also strengthens the bond between the Army and the local communities,” said a senior Army official. “We are committed to the welfare of the people of Kashmir and will continue to support them in every way possible.”The distribution drive was met with immense gratitude from the villagers, who expressed their appreciation for the Army’s compassionate support during the challenging winter months.This initiative highlights the Army’s dedication to fostering a positive and supportive environment in the region, going beyond security duties to address the immediate needs and improve the quality of life for the people of Kashmir–(TKD)
