LG Inaugurates Trade Show 2024, Promoting Diverse Sectors and Economic Growth

Srinagar, June 21: In a bid to promote the rich cultural and economic diversity of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor (LG) inaugurated the J&K Trade Show 2024. The event, attended by artisans, weavers, growers, and business entrepreneurs, aimed to showcase and bolster sectors such as handicrafts, handloom, agriculture, and horticulture.

Speaking at the inauguration, the LG highlighted the region’s potential for economic growth, emphasizing the importance of formulating and executing policies that leverage J&K’s cultural heritage and agricultural excellence. “We are committed to creating sustainable growth and generating employment opportunities through strategic policies that harness the strengths of each district,” the LG stated.

The event also underscored the implementation of the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative, designed to identify and promote unique products from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative, according to officials, not only enhances economic opportunities but also preserves local craftsmanship and traditions.

Artisans and growers expressed optimism about the Trade Show, citing it as a platform to showcase their skills and products to a wider audience. “This event is a great opportunity for us to connect with buyers and expand our market reach,” remarked one artisan showcasing traditional handicrafts.
