Cattle Theft in Mominabad Shangus: Two Cows Stolen from Crippled Man’s Cowshed, Family Seeks Help

Shangus, July 8:
In a deeply distressing incident, thieves stole two cows from a cowshed in Mominabad, Shangus, late last night, dealing a harsh blow to a financially struggling family.

According to details available with The Kashmir Dialogues, the stolen cows belonged to Gh Hassan Kanth, a resident of Mominabad Shangus. The family reported that the animals were safely kept in the cowshed and the gate was locked from outside. However, to their shock, the padlock was found broken early this morning and both cows were missing.

Narrating their ordeal, a family member said, “My husband is crippled and unable to work. We had kept the cows to support our family by selling milk and managing our daily needs. This theft has snatched our only source of livelihood.”

The family has urged the authorities to launch a thorough investigation and bring the culprits to justice. They also appealed to locals: “If anyone comes across the cows or has any information, please inform us or help in returning them.”

This incident has sparked concern in the area, highlighting the need for stronger community vigilance and better security measures in rural belts.
