The National Handloom Day was commemorated today, August 7, 2025, with a program attended by local handloom silk and cotton silk weavers, CSB-P4 BSF, and Manasbal employees. The significance of buying handloom silk products was highlighted during the event. A documentary film chronicling the Central Silk Board’s 75-year journey was also shown to the weavers. Notably, these skilled weavers create exquisite silk on silk carpets at the Safapora, Manasbal Carpet Cluster. Additionally, an awareness drive was undertaken to encourage the purchase of pure silk products featuring the Silk Mark Label of SMOI-Central Silk Board. In Kashmiri Language a message was conveyed in slogan that use locally made Handloom silk products to empower the women weever. During the interaction session with weevers of Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Scientist D / In-charge, Central Silk Board-P4, Basic Seed Farm, Manasbal, Ganderbal, the emphasis was given to buy all handmade products, which will not only strengthen the women of India but also boost our “Indian Economy”.
