ASP General Secretary Mohammad Yaqoob Dunoo Condemns Assault on Doctor at SMHS Hospital, Urges End to Strike

Srinagar, July 23: Ambedkar Samaj Party (ASP) General Secretary Mohammad Yaqoob Dunoo has strongly condemned the recent incident in which a doctor was allegedly assaulted at SMHS Hospital Srinagar. Calling the incident unfortunate and deeply disturbing, Dunoo emphasized the importance of maintaining a respectful and trusting relationship between doctors and patients.

“The bond between patients and medical professionals is built on trust and care. Incidents like these are unacceptable and should not be repeated,” he said in a statement issued today.

Dunoo also appealed to the striking doctors at SMHS Hospital to call off their protest for the greater good of society. He expressed concern that emergency patients and accident victims could suffer or even lose their lives due to the unavailability of medical attention during the strike.

“I urge my brothers and sisters in the medical profession to resume their duties, especially in emergency departments, to save lives. We cannot afford to lose patients who rely on timely treatment,” he said.

Additionally, Yaqoob Dunoo urged the concerned authorities to intervene and take strict action against the individual involved in the assault. He stressed that exemplary punishment should be given to the culprit to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

“This should serve as a strong message that violence against medical professionals will not be tolerated,” Dunoo added.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage among the medical community, with calls for better security measures and legal protection for healthcare workers.
