Police arrested 3 drug peddlers in Baramulla; Psychotropic & contraband substances recovered

Baramulla, Jan 8 : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 3 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered psychotropic and contraband substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Khawajabagh Baramulla, intercepted one person. During search, 60 tablets of Alprazolam and 29 tablets of Pacitane psychotropic substances was recovered from his possession.He was later identified as Sarfaraz Ahmad Dar son of Sonaullah Dar resident of Kralhar Baramulla. He was subsequently arrested.

Similarly, A police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyat at a checkpoint established at Banali Boniyar, intercepted one person. During search,54 grams of contraband Heroin like substances was recovered from his possession.He was later identified as Mehraj ud Din Sheikh son of Gh Hassan resident of Dudran. He was subsequently arrested.

In addition to the above, a police party of Police Post Wagoora headed by IC PP Wagoora at a checkpoint established at Takiya Wagoora, intercepted one person. During search, 30 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession.He was later identified as Jahangir Ahmad Shah son of Mehraj ud Din resident of Takiya Wagoora. He was subsequently arrested.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla, Boniyar & Kreeri and investigations have been initiated.
