As part of the “Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan” under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25, Awantipora Police organized a medical camp on drug abuse at Village Satoora in Tral. The initiative aimed to raise awareness, offer counseling, and provide medical support to individuals affected by substance abuse.
The camp was formally inaugurated by SDPO Tral, along with SHO Police Station Tral and Incharge Police Post Aripal. Addressing the gathering, the officers stressed the urgent need for community-driven efforts to eliminate the menace of drug abuse from society.
A medical team comprising experts from Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tral and Primary Health Centre (PHC) Aripal, along with paramedical staff, provided free health checkups. Based on their diagnoses, free medicines were distributed to the attendees.
During the camp, medical professionals highlighted the significance of physical and mental well-being, personal hygiene, and preventive healthcare. The youth were especially urged to steer clear of drugs and engage in constructive activities for a healthier future.
The event witnessed active participation from locals and was lauded as a meaningful step toward creating a drug-free society.
