Kidnapped Girl Rescued in Reasi, Accused Arrested: Police

Kulgam, March 01: In a swift and coordinated effort, Kulgam Police successfully rescued a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused, identified as Mohd Anwar, son of Bashir Khatana, a resident of Arnaas in Reasi district.

According to a police spokesperson, a complaint was received on February 17, 2025, at Police Station Kund from Manzoor Ahmad Bakerwal, a resident of Koka Basti Nageenpora, stating that his daughter (name withheld) had gone missing from the area.Acting swiftly, police registered an FIR No. 03/2025 under Sections 87, 49 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.

A special team, led by SHO Kund and working under the close supervision of the ASP and SDPO Qazigund, was constituted to track down the missing girl and apprehend the accused.

Using all available resources and intelligence inputs, the team successfully traced the victim and ensured her safe rescue while arresting the accused. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
