Bandipora, August 21: Socio-political activist Mudasir Ahmad Bhat held a supporters’ meeting at his residence in Naidkhai area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, on Wednesday evening. The gathering attracted hundreds of enthusiastic supporters.
While speaking to media Mudasir Bhat emphasizing the importance of awakening the youth to the realities of the current political landscape. He stressed that regardless of the size of the gatherings, their primary goal is to raise awareness among the youth. “The future is not in the hands of those who have deceived you for decades,” Bhat stated, urging young people not to support those who have exploited them for years. “Their time is up; the youth are now awake,” he added.
Bhat criticized the National Conference’s (NC) recent manifesto, accusing them of attempting to deceive the public with empty promises. He pointed out how the party previously rallied around Article 370 and 35A, only to abandon these issues. “Now, their shops are empty, and their goods have been sold; they have nothing left to offer,” Bhat said, highlighting the growing disillusionment among the youth.
He announced the start of his campaign, pledging to go door to door to connect with the people and work for their betterment. “The rest is in Allah’s hands, but we will work hard and, Inshallah, we are hopeful of winning the assembly elections,” Bhat affirmed.
When asked about his political affiliation for the upcoming elections, Bhat remained non-committal, stating, “Inshallah, a decision will be made soon. I will not disappoint our people adding that we will go with the party that resonates with the emotions and aspirations of the people, or we may contest independently.” He emphasized that the strength of any political movement lies in the support of the people.
Bhat concluded by declaring that traditional politics is no longer effective and that the youth now possess a powerful tool in social media. “By utilizing this platform, we will bring about the necessary changes. We stand with the youth, and the youth stand with us, Inshallah,” he said, expressing his confidence in the power of the younger generation to drive political change.
