Ambedkar Samaj Party Jammu. Kashmir & Ladakh Hold Joint Press Conference in Srinagar, Raise Alarms on Land Scam, Corruption, Tourism and Youth Issues

Srinagar, July 18 :- The Ambedkar Samaj Party (ASP) Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh held a joint press conference at its party office in Srinagar, raising serious concerns over the prevailing issues of land grabbing, corruption, and youth unemployment in the Jammu and Kashmir.

While addressing to the media, Shri Davinder Singh, State Spokesperson of ASP, stated that one of the biggest challenges currently facing Jammu and Kashmir is the alarming rise in land scams. “The land mafia is operating unchecked. One of the glaring examples is the illegal occupation surrounding Paras Hospital, which must be investigated. The government remains in deep slumber while people are losing their lands. Our party stands as the voice of the voiceless people and will fight for their rights,” Singh said.

Mohammad Yaqoob Dunoo, General Secretary of the ASP, emphasized that corruption has reached its peak in Jammu and Kashmir. “The administration and the government are unmoved while people continue to suffer. The Dal Lake region has witnessed rampant corruption, where rich individuals are being granted construction permissions, while the poor, like a recent case of a widow whose house was demolished, face discrimination and injustice,” Yaqoob said.

He further highlighted that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering greatly, with many falling into drug addiction due to lack of employment opportunities. Yaqoob urged the government to properly implement job schemes and awareness campaigns so that the youth can benefit and earn a decent livelihood.

Touching upon the impact on the tourism sector after the recent Pahalgam attack, Yaqoob called on the Union Ministry of Tourism to compensate affected stakeholders and defer bank installments for tourism-related businesses, including drivers, until March 2026.

Tariq Habib, State Vice President of the ASP, reiterated the party’s commitment to fighting for the marginalized sections of society. He said the party is actively working at the grassroots level to expose the injustices faced by common people. “The government must take immediate steps to address grievances of the people and implement anti-corruption measures,” he added.

Mr. Afaq, another party Vice President, stressed the need for transparency and accountability within the administrative system. “Until the government wakes up from its deep slumber, the Ambedkar Samaj Party will continue to be the voice of the oppressed. We appeal to the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to join our movement against injustice, corruption, and misgovernance,” he said.

The Ambedkar Samaj Party concluded the press conference by urging both the central and union governments to act swiftly on the highlighted issues and ensure justice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
