Union minister Jitendra Singh lauds rise in lavender production in J&K

Srinagar, Nov 16 : Union Minister of state for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that Jammu and Kashmir has given the country the purple revolution, a remarkable achievement in lavender cultivation.

Speaking at an event, Dr Singh, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), pointed out that the rise of lavender farming in Jammu & Kashmir has provided new avenues for youth employment.

He said that lavender startups are becoming an important economic driver, offering a green, eco-friendly business model for the youth in the Union Territory.

He also emphasised that the government’s role on innovation and local entrepreneurship that is shaping a brighter future for Jammu & Kashmir youth
