Two Women Injured in Awantipora Road Accident, Shifted to SMHS Srinagar

Pulwama, Sept 24, KNT: Two women were injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at Charsoo Awantipora on Tuesday, officials said.

The injured women were initially taken to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Awantipora and later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialised treatment. Doctors said one of the victims has sustained critical injuries.

The injured have been identified as Shahzada, wife of Mohammad Rafiq Bhat of Wachi Shopian, and Rubeena, 22, daughter of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Kadlebal Charsoo Awantipora.

Hospital sources confirmed that Shahzada’s condition is critical, while Rubeena is stable and under medical observation. Both continue to receive treatment at SMHS Hospital.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and launched efforts to trace the vehicle involved in the accident. Officials said appropriate legal action will follow once the driver is identified. [KNT]
