LG, CM, Azad Express Anguish Over Reasi, Ramban Tragedy

Srinagar, Aug 30 (KNC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday expressed deep anguish over Reasi and Ramban tragedies.

In a post on X, the office of J&K LG as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC wrote, Anguished by the cloudburst & rain-triggered landslides in Reasi & Ramban.

Condolences to the bereaved families. Spoke to Senior Officials and took stock of the situation. Rescue and relief operations are underway. All possible assistance is being provided to the affected, it reads.

Meanwhile in a post on X, Chief Minister has expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives due to a landslide in Rajgarh, Ramban. He has directed the administration to carry out immediate rescue & relief operations.

In another post, the Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the tragic landslide in Reasi’s Bhadder village that claimed the lives of seven family members.
Taking note of the continuous heavy rains, he appealed to people to remain alert, avoid vulnerable areas, and strictly adhere to safety advisories. He has directed the district administration and disaster management authorities to remain on the ground, ensure round-the-clock monitoring, carry out timely evacuation of residents from risk-prone zones, and provide immediate relief and all possible assistance to the affected families.

He has further instructed the concerned departments to remain vigilant, coordinate closely, and take every precautionary measure to safeguard lives during the ongoing inclement weather.

In a post on X, Ghulam nabi Azad wrote, Deeply saddened by the cloudburst in Rajgarh, Ramban claiming 4 lives & the landslide in Reasi that took 7 members of a family. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families & Prayers for those missing. Urge the Govt to provide immediate relief & assistance to the affected families!. (KNC)
