Indian Army Organizes Yoga Session for School Children in Uri Ahead of International Yoga Day

Baramulla, June 16: In a proactive initiative commemorating International Yoga Day, the Indian Army conducted a yoga session for school children at Uri. The event, held at Uri Ground, saw enthusiastic participation from 106 students and 6 school teachers of AGS Uri, along with representatives from two prominent NGOs – Kashmir Writer’s Association and the Department of Ayush.

The session commenced with an introduction to the significance of yoga, emphasizing its manifold benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Participants engaged in various yoga asanas, learning about stress reduction, enhanced mental clarity, and improved cognitive function through mindfulness and relaxation techniques taught during the hour-long practice.

Attendees praised the Indian Army for the seamless organization of the event, acknowledging their commitment to promoting holistic health and well-being among the youth.
