Div Com Kashmir Ensures Comprehensive Arrangements for Muharram ul Haram Observances


Srinagar, June 26 : Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) of Kashmir, chaired a crucial meeting today to oversee arrangements for the upcoming holy month of Muharram ul Haram. The meeting focused on ensuring meticulous arrangements to facilitate mourners across various locations in the region.

Addressing the gathered officials, Div Com stressed the importance of comprehensive planning to ensure all religious gatherings and processions proceed smoothly and peacefully. Key directives included provisions for regular water supply through tankers at Imam Baras, uninterrupted electricity supply by KPDCL, and prompt repair of street lights to enhance visibility and safety.

Special sanitation drives around Imam Baras and procession sites were also emphasized, alongside the deployment of medical teams and ambulances to provide immediate medical assistance as needed. Public Works Department (PWD) authorities were instructed to repair roads and ensure pothole-free routes to facilitate the movement of processions.

Moreover, measures were outlined to ensure the availability of essential items through aggressive market checking and encouraging local shopkeepers to keep their shops open during crucial hours near Imam Baras.

Security arrangements were prioritized, with a detailed route plan devised to facilitate smooth vehicular movement during the observances.

The meeting, attended by senior officials including IGP Kashmir and all Deputy Commissioners, underscored the administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe and conducive environment for Muharram ul Haram observances, with representatives from various Shia Associations also contributing to the discussions.
