DC Kulgam Reviews Ramadan Arrangements, Emphasizes Essential Services & Market Monitoring

Kulgam, Feb 25(TKD): As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), convened a high-level meeting to review and finalize arrangements, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for the public.

The DC directed the Jal Shakti and KPDCL departments to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours. He also emphasized sanitation and lighting, instructing municipal authorities to launch special cleanliness drives, focusing on roads, lanes, and markets, and installing additional streetlights.

To prevent profiteering, hoarding, and overcharging, the DC ordered intensified market inspections, urging officials to keep a strict check on prices. The availability of essential commodities was also assessed.

Additionally, traffic authorities were directed to ensure a smooth flow of transport, especially during evening hours, facilitating public movement during Ramadan.The meeting was attended by ADDC Mohammad Altaf Khan, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACR Mushtaq Ahmad, ACP, Exen Jal Shakti, Tehsildars, AEEs of PHE & PDD, Municipal Officers, officers from Sheep & Animal Husbandry, and members of Auqaf Committees–(TKD)
