Baramulla; Sept 15(TKD): The athletics events at the Varmul Gindo Sports Festival came to a thrilling conclusion yesterday, showcasing some of the finest talent in the region. Athletes from across the district participated in a variety of track and field events, competing fiercely for the top spots. The festival, which is part of the larger Varmul Gindo Sports celebration, saw impressive performances and memorable moments across all categories.
The highlight of the athletics competitions was the 100M sprint, where both men and women displayed exceptional speed and determination. In addition to individual races, the relay events captured the excitement of the spectators with close finishes and stunning teamwork.
Suhail Bashir shown dominant performance in men’s 100m event securing first place. Mehreen Javed’s powerful run in 100m earned her the top spot.
Adil Hussain’s powerful throw earned him the top spot in the men’s shotput category. Sheeraja claimed first position in Women’s Shotput with spirited performance.
Tanvir Mir’s best throw secured him the gold medal in a tough discus throw competition, whereas Uzmat Rasool outperformed her competitors in women’s category.
The Athletics event, a key part of the Varmul Gindo Sports Festival, drew large crowds who cheered on the athletes and celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship.
