Budgam Police Crack Theft Case, Arrest Accused and Recover Stolen Paddy

Budgam, March 25: In a swift action, Budgam Police have solved a theft case, arresting the accused and recovering stolen property.

On March 20, Police Post Soibugh received a complaint from Ghulam Mohammad Rather, a resident of Wadwan, reporting the theft of paddy from his granary during the night of March 19-20. Acting on the complaint, a case was registered at Police Station Budgam under FIR No. 59/2025, U/S 305 BNS, and an investigation was launched.

During the probe, several suspects were questioned, leading to a breakthrough when Umar Farooq Dar, a resident of Wadwan, confessed to the crime. He admitted to stealing the paddy and selling it to Toha Yousuf Dar of Gotapora Soibugh. Acting swiftly, the police recovered approximately three quintals of stolen paddy from their possession.

Both accused have been arrested, and further investigations are underway. The timely resolution of the case has been widely appreciated by the local residents, reinforcing public trust in law enforcement efforts.
