Anantnag Police Nab UAPA Accused Using Facial Recognition Technology

Anantnag, July 20 (TKD):
In a major breakthrough underscoring the efficacy of modern surveillance systems, the Anantnag Police arrested a wanted suspect through its Facial Recognition System (FRS) at the X-Ray Point in Ganishbal.

The individual, identified as Muneeb Mushtaq Sheikh, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh and resident of Malik Mohalla, Drangbal Pampore, was apprehended after the FRS flagged his presence. He was swiftly detained and shifted to Police Station Pahalgam for further verification.

Subsequent investigations confirmed that the accused is involved in FIR No. 28/2021 under Sections 16, 18, 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Sections 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act registered at Police Station Pampore.
