Anantnag, August 1 (TKD): In a major security operation, police along with the Army’s 19 RR and 96 BN CRPF apprehended three suspects and recovered arms and ammunition in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.
Officials said that during a routine Naka check on the main road at Krad Uttersoo, a suspicious Alto car was intercepted. Upon searching, the joint team recovered one pistol, a grenade, and 41 AK-47 rounds from the vehicle.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Ahmad from Koel Pulwama; Ishan Akram, son of Mohd Akram; and Waseem Rehman Sheikh, son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh, both residents of Medora Awantipora.
Police have registered a case, and further investigation into the matter is underway.
