UPDATE | Srinagar’s Lidwas Encounter: Three Terrorists Neutralised, Operation Continues

Srinagar, July 28 (TKD):
In a significant development, security forces have neutralised three terrorists in the ongoing encounter in the Lidwas area of Srinagar’s Harwan.

According to official sources, the gunfight turned intense as the hiding terrorists opened heavy fire on the joint teams of the Army, Police, and CRPF during the cordon and search operation launched in the Mulnaar forest near Mahadev. The forces retaliated strongly, leading to the killing of three militants.

“OP MAHADEV: Three terrorists neutralised in the Lidwas area. Operation continues,” the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps said in an official statement.

The identity and affiliation of the slain militants are being ascertained. Security personnel are currently engaged in combing operations to ensure no further threats remain in the area.

Authorities have maintained heightened security in the surroundings to prevent any law and order issues while the search operation is underway.
