Three J&K Police Personnel Martyred in Kathua Encounter, Two Terrorists Killed

Kathua, March 27 – In a fierce gunfight between security forces and terrorists in Kathua, three Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel were martyred in action, while two others sustained injuries. An Indian Army jawan was also injured and is being airlifted for medical treatment.

According to sources, two terrorists have been neutralized so far, but intelligence inputs suggest that the total number of terrorists involved in the encounter is between five and nine.

Martyred J&K Police Personnel:

  1. SgCT. Tariq Ahmad (Son of Kabir Hussain, Resident of Reasi)
  2. SgCT. Jaswant Singh (Son of Angrez Singh, Resident of Londi, Hiranagar)
  3. SgCT. Balwinder Singh (Son of Prem Singh, Resident of Kanna Chak, Kathua)

The encounter erupted when security forces launched an operation based on intelligence inputs about terrorist movements in the region. The situation remains tense as forces continue their operation to eliminate the remaining terrorists.

Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army have once again displayed exemplary bravery in safeguarding the nation. The sacrifices of the martyred jawans will always be remembered.
