The Women’s Premier League Baramulla Concludes with Grandeur, Showcases Exceptional Talent

Baramulla, 22 October 2024: The much-anticipated Women’s Premier League Baramulla, organized by the Baramulla Cricket Forum in collaboration with Dagger Division, a unit of the Indian Army stationed in Baramulla, came to a grand conclusion at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School. The league not only displayed fierce competition and exceptional talent but also fostered a spirit of sportsmanship and empowerment for women through sports.

In a thrilling finale, the Anantnag team triumphed over Baramulla in the professional category, while Government Girls Higher Secondary School defeated Delhi Public School (DPS) in the amateur category. Talat Raina from Anantnag stood out with her stellar performance and was awarded the Player of the Match.

The league featured eight professional and six amateur teams from across Kashmir, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for women’s sports in the region. It provided a platform for women athletes to showcase their talents and fostered increased participation in cricket.

Awards included the prestigious Women’s Premier League Trophy, cash prizes, and individual accolades, adding to the excitement of the event. Organizers have expressed their intention to expand the league, offer enhanced training opportunities, and attract larger audiences in the next season. This initiative aims to inspire young athletes, promote gender equality, and build a brighter future for women in sports across Kashmir.
